Media Ethics

Ombudsman is a readers representative.  I believe every big news source should be required to have an ombudsman.  Media, especially with the advances in technology is often drive by money.  This can create errors in perception of truth.  The ombudsman does not have to be constantly up the editors behind demanding certain stories, but more of a over seer to voice justice is being done.  These ombudsman stand as a symbol of our freedom to speech.  Sometimes validation is nice in todays world where you often have to question if you still have the certain basic rights our country was founded on.

Law and Communication

I firmly believe that if you directly gain from publicity you give up a majority of your privacy rights.  Nothing comes without a cost, especially in todays society.  Public opinion is the holy grail in a capitalist economy.  Heck, sometimes negative publicity helps celebrities or politicians we've forgot about become relevant again.  These people gain power, money and success because of public opinion, therefore the public has a right to follow you.  I do believe these people still deserve some private zones and times, however while in the PUBLIC, they absolutely should sacrifice some privacy, in the very least.
